Buying activity plunges

BUYING activity fell after trading flat for three straight weeks, while the selling among directors remained low based on filings on the Singapore Exchange from July 14 to July 18.
A total of 12 companies recorded 27 purchases worth S$1.9 million versus five firms with five disposals worth S$4.2 million. The number of trades and value on the buying side were down from the previous week's 32 purchases worth S$4.4 million, while the number of companies was slightly up from the previous week's 11 firms.
On the selling side, the number of companies and trades were down from the previous week's six firms and 12 disposals. The sell value, however, was up from the previous week's disposals worth S$2.6 million.
