Buying among directors falls, selling very low
Buyback activity surges; most purchases follow results announcements by companies
BUYING among directors fell while selling remained very low based on filings on Singapore Exchange (SGX) during the holiday-shortened week of Aug 3-6. A total of 13 companies recorded 23 purchases worth S$2 million versus one firm with one disposal worth S$182,000.
The buy figures were sharply down from the previous week's five-day totals of 19 companies, 30 purchases and S$19.84 million.
The selling, on the other hand, was consistent with the previous week's zero activity.
While the buying by directors fell last week, the buyback activity surged, with 10 companies posting 45 repurchases worth S$96.6 million.
