China Star Food served with a writ of summons
CHINA Star Food Group (formerly known as Brooke Asia) was on Thursday served with a writ of summons, filed by Cheong Chee Hwa in Singapore's High Court.
Mr Cheong is claiming a sum of about S$2.54 million, or damages to be assessed, for certain breaches alleged to have been committed by the company under a sale-and-purchase agreement dated Nov 5, 2014, China Star said.
This follows a letter of demand from Mr Cheong dated Aug 19, 2016.
"The company had already sought legal advice on the letter of demand and the company's solicitors responded to deny the claim and the allegations in the Writ. The company will defend the legal action," China Star added.
