Chinese brokerage Haitong opens S'pore office
CHINESE brokerage Haitong International Securities Group opened its first overseas office in Singapore yesterday.
Lin Yong, the deputy chairman and chief executive of the group, said: "More Chinese companies are looking for opportunities to gain access to the international market in terms of capital as well as market share; we will aid them by offering tailored solutions to them."
Speaking in Mandarin from the company's office in Prudential Tower, he said the office here will act as a major bridge for Chinese industries going global, allowing for more cross-border transactions. The company has a licence for dealing in securities and trading in futures contracts from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, he said.
