Cosco yards secure contracts
COSCO Corporation (Singapore) said yesterday that Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard has secured contracts worth more than US$470 million to build four subsea supply vessels. The contracts, which exclude owner-furnished equipment from Maersk Supply Service, a part of AP Moller-Maersk Group, come with options for two more vessels. Separately, Cosco (Zhoushan) Shipyard has won a contract worth over US$56 million from an Asian buyer to build two 64,000 DWT bulk carriers. Both the yards are subsidiaries of the company's 51 per cent owned unit, Cosco Shipyard Group.
