IN August, Singapore Airlines' system-wide passenger carriage (measured in revenue passenger kilometres) edged up 0.8 per cent year-on-year, while capacity was scaled back 2.1 per cent. This bumped passenger load factor (PLF) up 2.5 percentage points to 85.6 per cent. Regional wing SilkAir's system-wide passenger carriage expanded 16.7 per cent year-on-year, outstripping a 9.5 per cent capacity increase. PLF increased by 4.7 percentage points to 76.2 per cent.
