Deal value in 2015 could surpass 2007 peak: Mergermarket
TOTAL mergers and acquisitions (M&A) value this year looks set to surge past last year's mark, and could surpass the last peak in 2007, said a report by media company Mergermarket.
"Based on the activity rate for the first nine months of the year, 2015 could see total deal value reach an estimated US$3.83 trillion by the end of the year, representing a 4.5 per cent increase on 2007's peak of US$3.66 trillion," the report noted.
"So far this year, deals valued at US$2.87 trillion are 21.1 per cent higher than year-to-date 2014, and down just 12.1 per cent from the whole of last year."
All data is based on transactions over US$5 million and is based on Mergermarket's M&A deals database.
