SOME 20 months and US$90 million later, Singapore's mainboard-listed Triyards Holdings has handed over the 450-foot lattice-legged self-elevating unit (SEU), one of the world's largest liftboats, to a unit of Ezion Holdings.
On several levels, it marks a crucial point for Triyards, the fabrication arm of parent Ezra Holdings, which built the state-of-the-art vessel known as BH450 at Saigon Shipyard, one of two yards it owns in Vietnam apart from a third it owns in Houston, Texas.
For one thing, it rachets up Triyards' status in the SEU space, where it already enjoys a tidy niche and leading position in South-east Asia.
