Director activity rebounds
Buyers outweigh sellers by a big margin; company buyback activity also increases.
THE director activity rebounded sharply last week with 31 companies recording 90 transactions worth S$23.8 million based on filings with the Singapore Exchange in the first week of March. The figures were sharply up from the previous week's eight firms, 20 trades and S$4.6 million.
Buyers outweighed sellers with 27 companies recording 69 purchases worth S$19.7 million versus four firms with 21 disposals worth S$4.1 million. The buy figures were sharply up from the previous week's eight companies, 20 purchases and S$4.6 million. Sales, too, saw a sharp jump from the previous week's zero activity.
Aside from directors, buyback activity also rose last week with 18 companies posting 59 repurchases worth S$25.1 million. The figures were up from the previous week's 12 firms, 44 trades and S$19.5 million.
