Director buying slows; buyback activity rebounds
THE buying among directors slowed while the selling returned based on filings on Singapore Exchange from Aug 29 to Sept 2. A total of 23 companies recorded 42 purchases worth S$3.6 million versus two firms with six disposals worth S$1.93 million.
The number of companies and trades on the buying side were sharply down from the previous week's 28 firms and 57 purchases. The buy value, however, was double the previous week's acquisitions worth S$1.8 million. There were no sales by directors in the previous week.
Meanwhile, the buyback activity rebounded sharply last week with 26 companies that posted 74 repurchases worth S$30.5 million. The figures were sharply up from the previous week's 18 firms, 54 trades and S$8.4 million.
