Erm, about that random fund. . .
BT Random Fund is up 21.7% for H1; it even jumped to 43% at end of last week
OH, hi there. Err, remember that little matter of, umm, our own random fund. . ?
We are feeling somewhat like Germany after their 7-1 drubbing of Brazil in the World Cup semi-finals last week.
The BT Random Fund, a hypothetical collection of 10 randomly picked stocks by The Business Times, is up 21.7 per cent for the half-year, at end-June 2014. In fact, at the end of last week, the fund was up an embarrassing 43 per cent. Meanwhile, the Straits Times Index was up 2.8 per cent for the half-year. Temasek Holdings itself produced a one-year shareholder return of only 1.5 per cent.
