ENGINEERING consultancy company Meinhardt Group on Tuesday (Feb 7) appointed Eugene Seah as the new chief operating officer (COO) of Singapore operations and senior director of the group’s chief executive office.

Seah will also join the company as a global board member, said Meinhardt.

Prior to his appointment, Seah worked for infrastructure consultancy group Surbana Jurong in a number of leadership roles, including managing director (MD) of Surbana Technologies and senior director of the group’s chief executive office, among others.

He also holds two Masters degrees – in construction law and arbitration, and one in sustainable building design.

“Seah has a formidable reputation, endless energy and solid experience in the built environment industry, having successfully undertaken various senior leadership roles covering Singapore and overseas markets,” said Omar Shahzad, chief executive of Meinhardt.

“I am looking forward to working closely with Eugene to bolster our business in Singapore, and implement new initiatives and business lines across the group,” he added.

In addition to pursuing business goals for Meinhardt, Seah said he would be looking to use the company as a platform to encourage students, engineers and young professionals to pursue a career in addressing complex urban development and climate change challenges.
