Genting unit inks $1.2b deal to build luxury liner
GENTING Hong Kong Limited yesterday said its indirect wholly owned subsidiary Chinese Precept Limited has inked a 697.2 million-euro (S$1.2 billion) shipbuilding contract with Meyer Werft GMBH.
The vessel is to be built as a luxury passenger cruise vessel under the group's Star Cruises long-term strategy to modernise and expand its fleet for continuing business development, and also to strengthen its market penetration in the Asia-Pacific.
It is expected to be ready for delivery in Oct 2017.
