GIC aiming for 7.73% stake in Vietcombank

SINGAPORE'S sovereign wealth fund GIC is looking to place its first significant direct investment in a commercial bank in Vietnam with a proposed 7.73 per cent stake in Vietcombank.
This comes as GIC looks to emerging markets to boost portfolio returns. If completed, the investment will make GIC the third-largest stakeholder.
