Great Eastern Q4 earnings up 25%

HIGHER unrealised mark-to-market gains from favourable financial market conditions and growth in operating profit from insurance business helped lift Great Eastern Holding's fourth quarter 2014 earnings by 25 per cent.
Net profit for Q4 was S$207.8 million for the three months ending Dec 2014, while it rose 30 per cent to S$878.6 million for the year ended 2014. This represents earnings per share of S$0.44 for Q4 and S$1.86 for the full year.
