Yang Kee Logistics is pursuing acquisitions in US and Australia

HOMEGROWN logistics firm Yang Kee Logistics is poised to spread its wings after a few years of consolidation.
The Business Times understands that the company is pursuing overseas acquisitions, and has also attracted the attention of a fund.
When approached for an interview, managing director Ken Koh said that he is looking to buy contract logistics and forwarding businesses in Australia and the US, but is unable to give more details as discussions are still under way.
"Logistics is a global business. The more networks and branches you have to collect 'deposits', the more you can sell to customers," said Mr Koh, 39, the eldest son of 64-year-old founder Koh Yang Kee.
Yang Kee, which had over S$40 million of revenues in 2015, provides mainly contract logistics services in Singapore. This means it provides transport services and stores goods for its customers, which are in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, and consumer sectors. Yang Kee also provides freight …
