Hyflux, Sembcorp could be in race for Suez Canal project

Economic Zone authority says it is hoping to include them as possible candidates for a power plant

SCZone was first conceived in 1998 to create an economic zone along the world's major maritime trade route - the Suez Canal that officials said will account for 30-35% of Egypt's economic activity.


SINGAPORE's water-treatment company Hyflux and diversified energy, water and marine group Sembcorp Industries are two potential contenders for a power plant project mooted for the northern area of Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
