Jardine Matheson's FY16 net profit up 39% at US$2.5b

LIFTED by a US$1.1 billion gain from higher value of Hongkong Land's investment property portfolio, Jardine Matheson Holdings' (JMH) net profit for the full year climbed 39 per cent to US$2.5 billion.
This translates to earnings per share of US$6.69 in FY16, up from US$4.82 a year ago.
For the 12 months to end-December 2016, underlying profit was up marginally to US$1.39 billion, while revenue was 11 per cent higher at US$72.4 billion.
