Jumbo opens fifth bak kut teh restaurant, expands seafood outlet
JUMBO Group has opened its fifth bak kut teh (pork ribs soup) outlet and also expanded seating capacity at one of its seafood restaurants by 50 per cent.
The restaurant group said in a release on Tuesday it has just opened the 1,600-sq-ft Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh outlet at Resorts World Sentosa.
The outlet features self-ordering and payment kiosks and a system that encourages diners to return their trays after dining. Through these systems, Jumbo hopes to cut waiting time for diners, and also reduce the outlet's manpower needs by about 30 per cent.
The group also recently leased an additional 3,500 square feet of space for its Jumbo Seafood (Riverside) outlet in Clarke Quay. This allows the restaurant to increase seating capacity from 300 to 450.
The newly added seats are placed on the second floor of the outlet, which includes five VIP rooms with a view of the Singapore River, and nine tables in the main hall to cater for corporate meals and events.
Group CEO and executive chairman Ang Kiam Meng said these expansions bear testament to the group's growth. "Our group will continue to work towards growing our food and beverage brands to provide a differentiated dining experience for our customers."
