Tributes pour in as sudden death shocks business community

KWEK Leng Joo - businessman, property tycoon, environmentalist, keen lensman, and above all, philanthropist - died in his sleep on Monday morning from a sudden heart attack.
Mr Kwek, the younger brother of City Developments Ltd (CDL) executive chairman Kwek Leng Beng, was 62.
The late deputy chairman and executive director of CDL was known for his dedication to and advocacy of corporate social responsibility (CSR) for over two decades in both his corporate and personal capacities.
A champion of CSR, he put the CDL group on a sustainability journey to become a green building leader.
CDL was the first Singapore company to be listed on the world's top sustainability benchmarks including the Global 100 Most Sustainable Companies in the World since 2009 and the only Singapore developer to be included in the UN…
