Largest capitalised IT stocks on SGX averaged 34% total returns in 2014

THE 20 largest information technology (IT) stocks on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) in 2014 boasted a combined market capitalisation (cap) of close to S$10 billion, and an average total return of 33.6 per cent. These 20 stocks (among a total of 86 primary listed IT stocks on SGX) hail from three sub-sectors, with six in software and services, 12 in technology hardware and equipment, and two in semiconductors and semiconductor equipment.
Silverlake Axis, topping the list with a S$2.82 billion market cap and a total return of 48.6 per cent, provides digital economy services to banking, insurance, payment, retail and logistics companies globally, and is a subsidiary of Intelligentsia Holding. The next four largest IT stocks are electronics provider Venture Corporation, semiconductor firm Stats ChipPAC, contract manufacturer Hi-P International, as well as automation and telecommunications solutions provider CSE Global.
