Legal case likely for passengers on SQ836
US lawyer says the case bears 'remarkable similarities' to Qantas Flight 72 that fell 2,000m in 2008

THE American lawyer who launched one of the largest aviation compensation claims in Australia over a 2008 Qantas flight now has his sights set on mounting a legal case for passengers aboard Singapore Airlines (SIA) Flight 836 last Saturday.
Floyd Wisner, principal of Chicago-based Wisner Law Firm - which is representing passengers on the ill-fated AirAsia Flight 8501 that crashed into the Java Sea late last year - said the case bears "remarkable similarities" to Qantas Flight 72 (QF72) that fell 2,000 metres in 2008 on its way from Singapore to Perth, and that many passengers would have suffered "severe emotional and possibly physical trauma".
