M1's remote monitoring solution launched for those looking after the elderly

TELECOMMUNICATIONS operator M1 on Wednesday launched an integrated smart-activity monitoring service designed for senior citizens who live independently and have caregivers who can use the system to keep an eye on their well-being.
The telco has partnered with activity-monitoring solution providers to come up with the service, which gives caregivers access to real-time information on the senior citizen's activity at home through a desktop computer or an Internet browser.
This will work like other modern solutions in that customisable alerts can be set to go off if, for instance, the toilet or kitchen sensor has not been triggered for a pre-set period, or if the senior citizen's activity occurs at abnormal intervals.
