FROM long-snaking queues to get in when it opened its first outlet in Malaysia at the end of 2014 at the Mid Valley Mall, the crowds at Tim Ho Wan have thinned to a smattering, making it hard for TexChem Resources Bhd's subsidiary Dim Sum Delights to sustain the operations.
TexChem Resources said this has led to its 51 per cent subsidiary having to "cease business operations in the sales of food and beverages with effect from 3 July 2017". This followed the unit's losses of nearly RM900,000 (S$289,500) for the year to end December last year and little possibility of a turnaround in the near future.
