Meinhardt partners IE Singapore to expand into Africa, Middle East
MEINHARDT Group, a global engineering, planning and management firm, is working with International Enterprise (IE) Singapore to expand into Africa and the Middle East, both parties said in a joint statement on Wednesday.
Under the partnership, Meinhardt had in late 2016 acquired an African engineering consultancy, Bhundia Associates (BA), to gain inroads into Kenya.
"IE Singapore has been sharing on-ground developments as well as connecting the company to key business partners in Kenya, eventually leading to the acquisition," the statement said.
Meinhardt is also targeting the Middle East for real estate and infrastructure development opportunities, to diversify and capture new growth.
Currently, the group's office is in Cairo, which acts as a resource centre for its projects in the Middle East. There are plans to expand the team at the Cairo office from 35 to 100 by 2020.
