Na Wu Beng is new Wing Hang CEO
FOLLOWING the close of OCBC's S$6.2 billion offer for Wing Hang, it has moved quickly to find new leadership for the Hong Kong bank.
Yesterday, it appointed banking veteran Na Wu Beng as CEO of Wing Hang with effect from Aug 18. Mr Na replaces Patrick Fung, Wing Hang Bank's current chairman and CEO, who will remain as Wing Hang's non-executive chairman. Mr Fung is also a son of the late Y K Fung who founded the bank.
Mr Na, 58, was for a decade the deputy president director of Bank OCBC NISP, OCBC's Indonesian banking unit. There, he was instrumental in driving the corporate banking business, successfully transferring customer and product solutions from Singapore and Malaysia to Indonesia. Mr Na also spearheaded the collaborative efforts between OCBC and OCBC NISP across business functions such as corporate banking, consumer banking, treasury, risk management as well as operations and technology.
