Need good questions for AGMs? SIAS has you covered
Singapore
SHAREHOLDERS heading into the upcoming rotation of annual general meetings can turn to the Securities Investors Association (Singapore) for ideas on what questions to ask.
The advocacy group for retail shareholders, also known as SIAS, in July began an initiative to provide, for free, three carefully researched questions for each company being covered under the programme. The aim is to help improve the quality of engagement between management and shareholders at general meetings. So far, SIAS has provided questions for 35 Singapore-listed companies, of which eight have AGMs occurring in the coming days. Another 32 are slated to undergo the same scrutiny soon. SIAS president David Gerald said companies with lower corporate governance scores are selected first.
