Nerd-heavy JBA going strong in flood mapping business

IF there's a competition to determine the highest density of brainy folks in a company, 400-strong flood mapping specialist JBA Group would be a serious contender.

Simon Waller, managing director of JBA Risk Management - part of the UK-based group - will proudly tell you "we're full of nerds" and that "almost every one" of his staff has a second degree in a technical field.

"As the managing director, I'm the least qualified person. But I love working with very bright people. So, fortunately (for me), I can bluff my way through," he adds in jest.
