Oct market value surges past trillion-dollar mark

THE treats, not tricks, sweetened the showing by the Singapore bourse in October - and not just during Halloween but for much of the month.

Rosy macro numbers and encouraging earnings reports from home and abroad, easing concerns (relatively speaking) over North Korea's nuclear testing (no, World War III is not happening) plus Wall Street's forceful rally did good by the stock market.
