Orange Valley opens sixth nursing home in Balestier in January
ORANGE Valley Nursing Homes, Singapore's largest private nursing home operator, opened its sixth centre on Jan 2 in Balestier, bringing the chain's total number of beds to more than 1,000.
The five-storey centre, at 363 Balestier Road , boasts 116 beds and another two for quarantine and isolation. Besides open wards, there are single, two-bed and four-bed rooms as well as two deluxe suites.
As a first for the chain, it features rehabilitation services for outpatient treatment, such as post-surgery convalescence and mobility and functional training.
It also provides nursing care services such as general geriatic care and long-term institutional care, short-term stays and step down care.
It also features an in-house pharmacy which distributes medication to the chain's other homes, located at Clementi, Simei, Marsiling, Changi and Sims Avenue.
Other amenities at the Balestier spot include a dedicated physiotherapy room and multi-purpose hall.
Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) acquired Orange Valley in April 2017.
Lyn Edel Yip, deputy chief executive of Orange Valley Nursing Homes, said: "The Orange Valley Care Centre at Balestier being located in the central region is well-positioned to work closely with the neighbouring healthcare providers such as restructured and private hospitals as well as general practitioners to provide seamless quality care for patients with diverse medical needs and conditions."
