PSA Int'l 2015 profit falls as container volume dips

Port operator PSA International posted a lower net profit of S$1.268 billion for FY15, down 9.5 per cent from FY14's S$1.402 billion, along with a dip in its container handling volume as a result of softening global trade and shipping demand.
Revenue fell 6.7 per cent to S$3.573 billion. Its flagship Singapore terminals contributed 30.62 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), a decrease of 8.7 per cent year-on-year. PSA terminals outside Singapore delivered a total throughput of 33.48 million TEUs, up 5 per cent over 2014.
