ENGINE-MAKER Pratt & Whitney is banking on a growing demand from airlines for long-term fleet management services to fuel its growth, especially with its new PurePower engine poised to enter the market by the end of 2015.

"We're excited - there's growth not only in Singapore, but we're positioning to take advantage of the growth that's going to be in Asia over the next two decades," Pratt & Whitney Singapore's vice-president William Kircher told BT.

The global aerospace manufacturer has built up its aftermarket capabilities since it first set up operations here in 1983, making Singapore its most comprehensive aftermarket base outside the US. For instance, the Pratt & Whitney Eagle Services Asia engine centre in Singapore will be the first one globally to service the PW1500G engine.
