Sembcorp Q2 profit up 8.3% at S$179m
Utilities slow but marine unit, Nanjing urban project put up a good show
SEMBCORP Industries saw its second-quarter net profit rise 8.3 per cent to S$179 million, from S$165.4 million for the corresponding period last year, due to higher operating profit from its marine business and contributions from its urban development project in China.
Its revenue for the three months ended June 30 inched up 1.4 per cent to S$2.53 billion, from to S$2.5 billion last year.
Sembcorp's earnings per share for the second quarter were 9.87 Singapore cents, 6.6 per cent more than the 9.26 Singapore cents last year.
