SEMBCORP Marine is making headway in pitching its Gravifloat concept for gas-to-power projects, with progress noted in Malaysia and South Africa.
BT understands that SembMarine is involved in early conceptual studies towards supplying a mini floating regasification and power plant towards an ongoing project - estimated cost of which is in the range of billions of ringgit - in the Malaysian state of Sabah. Regasification is the physical process by which liquefied natural gas (LNG) is heated to be returned into its gaseous state.
