SIA rolls out special livery for SG50
SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) is decking out two of its double-decker Airbus A380s with a special livery featuring a Singapore flag-themed design to celebrate the nation's Golden Jubilee. The 10m-tall and 47m-long design will be on both sides of the fuselage, and the A380's two inboard engines will bear the official SG50 logo.
The first aircraft will take to the skies early next month, and the second, in July. The livery will be in place till year end.
Other initiatives the national carrier is planning for Singapore's 50th birthday include a special, three-hour A380 charity flight on May 29 for some 300 beneficiaries of Community Chest, and promotions to entice overseas Singaporeans and visitors to travel here for the SG50 celebrations.
