Shell Singapore appoints first female country head
ROYAL Dutch Shell has appointed its first female head for Shell companies in Singapore.
Goh Swee Chen, who is vice-president for commercial fuels and lubricants in Asia Pacific and will continue in the role, succeeded Lee Tzu Yang from Wednesday. Mr Lee will be staying with Shell until end-October to help with the transition, and is retiring after that.
Ms Goh, who also chairs the Shell Tongyi Board, a lubricants joint venture in China, joined Shell in 2003 and has led businesses in sales and marketing and IT. Before Shell, she worked for IBM Australia and Procter and Gamble. She graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand and also holds an MBA from Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago.
