SIA Q1 earnings fall in absence of one-time gain; operating profit up

SINGAPORE Airlines' fiscal first-quarter net profit fell due to the absence of a one-off gain but its operating profit strengthened on the back of stronger revenue.
The airline reported a net profit of S$235.1 million for the three months ended June 30, 2017, down about 8.4 per cent from a year ago.
