THE value of the Singapore stock market just made it back into positive territory after a see-sawing Q3, and analysts expect continued volatility to place a premium on careful stock picking.
The total value of all the shares on Singapore Exchange rose 8.2 per cent year on year to $917.2 billion as at end-September, according to preliminary data compiled by The Business Times.
Aggregate market capitalisation is up 0.8 per cent versus the end of the first half, and up 3.4 per cent against end-2012.
