Singapore market cap shrinks 3.1% in November
Fall in value due to weak earnings and wariness about possible US interest rate hike

THE value of Singapore-listed companies slipped 3.1 per cent in November amid a wave of weak earnings and wariness about a possible hike in US interest rates.
The total market capitalisation of Singapore-listed companies eased to S$854.6 billion in November compared to a month earlier, snuffing out October's short-lived 6.3 per cent month-on-month rally, according to data compiled by The Business Times. Year to date, market cap is down 10.7 per cent from end-2014.
The weakness was felt across the board. A total of 452 stocks lost value in November compared to 208 that grew, or about nine down for every four up.
