SingTel, Ericsson in radio dot system trial for in-building mobile broadband coverage
SINGTEL is conducting a trial of Ericsson's Radio Dot System to "vastly improve" the in-building mobile broadband experience in Singapore, Ericsson said on Monday.
This trial, which is being carried out at Changi Business Park, is hoped to extend SingTel's Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and 3G network coverage into enterprise buildings and public places.
This radio dot system, designed to integrate with SingTel's LTE and 3G networks, features an antenna element or "dot" that delivers mobile broadband access to users.
"Knowing the importance of delivering not only good in-building coverage but also having good data throughput for our customers, this new pilot will help us to enhance and improve the SingTel customer experience in both commercial and public buildings," said Tay Soo Meng, SingTel's group chief technology officer.
