SMRT makes two key appointments
THE board of SMRT Corporation announced on Monday two key appointments for the positions of chief technology officer and chief corporate officer.
Ng Bor Kiat, the current senior vice-president of Systems & Technology and Technology Management Office, will take on the concurrent appointment as chief technology officer. Koh Keng Swee Gerard, the current vice-president of Human Resources, will take on the appointment of chief corporate officer. Both appointments will take effect on Sept 1, 2016.
As chief technology officer, Mr Ng will harness technology exploitation across the group by charting out technology investment roadmaps and coordinate technology tie-ups with external parties to seed strategic business innovations and technology developments.
As chief corporate officer, Mr Koh will oversee the Corp Services cluster comprising IT and Organisational Excellence, Procurement and Supply, HR and Training. In this new role, he will leverage enhancements to the IT systems and processes to synergise the various functions for greater effectiveness and efficiency.
Both of them will report to the company's president and group CEO, Desmond Kuek.
