S'pore, Canada top in financial services' regulatory environments
Singapore
SINGAPORE has emerged a clear global leader in providing top notch regulatory environment for financial services, beating major jurisdictions in Switzerland, the UK and the US to clinch a "tier one" status together with Canada, according to a report commissioned by Toronto Financial Services Alliance.
But the report, which compared regulatory environments in Canada, Dubai, European Union (EU), Hong Kong, Singapore, Switzerland, the UK and the US, showed the city-state is less well-rated for crime prevention and consumer protection.
