STOUT banks and defensive blue chips lifted the value of the Singapore stock market out of a three-month slump in November, but analysts are bracing for bumps ahead.

The total market capitalisation of Singapore-listed stocks rose 1.2 per cent month-on-month to S$956.5 billion, according to data compiled by The Business Times. The slight improvement was the first since July, when market cap grew by 1.3 per cent to S$978.7 billion. For the year to date, the value is up 6.3 per cent from December's S$899.4 billion.
