StanChart appoints new global head of wealth planning and family advisory
STANDARD Chartered (StanChart) has appointed former JPMorgan executive Mike Tan as its new global head of wealth planning and family advisory from Sep 25.
Tan’s appointment reflects the bank’s commitment to deliver a holistic wealth advisory experience to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, as well as family offices, the bank said on Monday (Sep 11). In this new role, Tan will report to Raymond Ang, global head of private and affluent banking.
Tan will lead the team to offer “competitive and integrated” wealth planning, family office and family governance advice to private banking clients across the bank’s four wealth advisory hubs of Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and Jersey.
Since moving into banking from the legal profession in 2003, Tan has amassed 20 years of experience in various wealth advisory roles across Singapore and Hong Kong. Most recently, he was part of JPMorgan’s wealth advisory team in Singapore.
“I look forward to welcoming Mike to the bank as we lift our wealth planning and family advisory business to the next level, and consolidate our position as one of the largest international wealth managers,” Ang said.
