StarHub partners China Mobile for seamless cross border user experience
SINGAPORE-BASED StarHub has signed a memoranda of understanding (MOU) with the world's largest mobile operator, China Mobile, to give its mobile customers a seamless cross border user experience.
As part of the partnership, the telcos will also look into collaborating on five key areas involving device, data analytics, mobile business, network and innovation as well as Internet of Things.
"This is our first step in a long journey that we know will be fruitful for all: China Mobile, StarHub and our customers. This partnership is timely, as China embarks on its 'One Belt One Road' journey, and Singapore is well-positioned to facilitate this journey," Tan Tong Hai, StarHub's chief executive officer, said at the signing ceremony held in Hong Kong.
The collaboration will see China Mobile International, a unit of China Mobile, working with StarHub and Thailand's True Corporation plc under the former's "Hand-in-Hand Program", which was launched in Shanghai on July 14, 2015.
The non-exclusive partnership programme aims to form an integrated platform involving international parties with the intention of providing seamless services to customers. It is hoped that through such cross-industry collaboration, global digital work and life experience of individuals and corporates can be further enriched without boundary.
