STI loses more ground after scaling 7-year high
Index extends its losses for the third straight day, dropping 21.94 points or 0.6%
THERE was nothing fresh about the start of a new trading week in the local bourse on Monday with the key index extending its losses for the third straight trading day, taking the lead from last Friday's fall in Wall Street.
"Political noise" over Greece as the deadline for economic reforms loomed and significant policy decisions over at China as the authorities worked hard to shore up a flagging economy dampened trading sentiments across the region.
The benchmark Straits Times Index , which scaled a seven-year high last Wednesday, lost 21.94 points or 0.6 per cent to end the day at 3,503.25.
