Succession and board renewal at S'pore banks
THREE years ago, DBS Group chief executive Piyush Gupta said his successor could be a woman.
At a networking event, when asked about the possibility of a woman as the next DBS CEO, Mr Gupta said: "The next CEO could definitely be a woman. In my succession plan, we definitely have women on it."
Three women then and now sit on DBS's nine-member executive committee - head of institutional banking group (IBG) Jeanette Wong, head of consumer banking and wealth management (CBG) Tan Su Shan and chief financial officer Chng Sok Hui.
As Mr Gupta said, all of the most powerful functions in DBS are run by women.
