TechnipFMC relocates subsea business to KL; move may herald job cuts in Singapore

Kuala Lumpur

TECHNIPFMC, the merged entity between two world-class oilfield services players, Technip and FMC, is relocating its subsea business in Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

TechnipFMC confirmed this to The Business Times on Tuesday, adding that the move was decided "after an organisational review … to optimise operation cost and efficiency".

Coming after the US$13 billion merger between the two entities was completed in January, this latest decision to ship out its subsea business to Malaysia...
