Singapore-listed semiconductor players could ride on industry recovery
THE semiconductor sector has begun to show signs of a nascent recovery. Market watchers believe this could bode well for locally listed semiconductor companies, which logged a mixed performance this year.
World Semiconductor Trade Statistics show that the year-on-year decline in the three-month moving average for semiconductor historical billings was 4.5 per cent in September.
While still negative, the figure is a significant improvement from the 21.3 per cent decline recorded in April – and suggests that the semiconductor industry could be returning to form.
