Data analytics startup uses artificial intelligence to predict the outcome of legislation

A SUBSIDIARY of Singapore Temasek Holdings has invested in FiscalNote, a Washington-based startup which uses artificial intelligence to predict the outcome of legislation.
FiscalNote has just closed a US$7 million round of funding from a raft of big names, including Pavilion Capital, Temasek's subsidiary and the Winklevoss twins, famous for their lawsuit against Facebook and its founder Mark Zuckerberg.
The data analytics startup is replacing humans with computers and software. It boasts a software "crawler" that automates information gathering traditionally done by hordes of policy analysts, lobbyists and researchers.
Its data-mining software then crunches the numbers to determine the fate of 200,000 to 300,000 bills proposed by state legislatur…
